Study Programs at Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts:

Foundation Year (17+):

Due to the difference in education systems between Ukraine (11 years of schooling) and the UK (12 years), students must complete an additional preparatory year before starting their undergraduate studies, which compensates for the missing 12th year.

The Foundation program is available in two main areas:

Art:

This preparatory year helps students not only improve their academic English but also explore various art fields. By the end of the year, students create a portfolio in the area they wish to pursue at the undergraduate level. The following areas are available:

  • Art & Design (general course for those undecided on their specialization) – Subjects include fashion, fashion branding, graphic design and illustration, photography, spatial design (interior, architecture), product design, theatrical arts (make-up, costume design, stage design), applied and fine arts.
  • Fashion – Preparation for studying fashion. Students learn fashion illustration, sketching, fabric selection, draping, garment construction, and work with sewing equipment.
  • Graphics & Illustration – Students learn various types of graphic design, photography, advertising, 3D illustration, colour techniques, drawing, and various computer programs.
  • 3D Design – Designed for students interested in spatial design, applied arts, and product design.

This program is accredited by University of Arts London (one of the largest and most prestigious art institutions in the UK), which allows students to either apply to any other UK university or be guaranteed a place in the first year of a bachelor’s degree at CSVPA.
