Successful Admission to the International Year One (IYO) Program at KICL with Progression to BSc (Hons) Business Management (Marketing) at the University of Westminster
Scholarship Awarded: £1,500
Why Our Team Recommended This Option:
- International Year One Program Availability: Unlike the more common Foundation program, the IYO program is less frequently offered and was the perfect fit for our student. Foundation wasn’t considered as her priority was to reduce the years of study while still benefiting from added support during her first year. Our goal was to find a strong IYO program with a clear progression path into a university known for its robust business faculty. The combination of a year at Kaplan International College London, followed by direct entry into the second year at the University of Westminster, proved ideal.
- Strong Business School: Business is one of the University of Westminster’s top fields. The faculty holds prestigious accreditations from associations like the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), among others.
- Professional Connections: The University of Westminster has established relationships with numerous companies that regularly recruit students and graduates.
- Extracurricular Opportunities: Each year, the university hosts over 100 guest lectures featuring speakers from global companies like IBM, Coca-Cola, LinkedIn, and more.
- International Environment: The University of Westminster is among the top 10 most international universities in the UK.
Comprehensive Support from The Academic Advisor:
Our student’s case was a familiar one. After completing part of a bachelor’s program in Ukraine, Mariia realised she wanted to switch her field to business and marketing. We recommended the IYO route, which essentially acts as the first year of a bachelor’s degree while preparing international students for a new academic system – exactly what Mariia needed as she had no prior overseas study experience and required additional support.
Maria contacted us in late March 2024, a relatively late stage in the application season, giving us around five months to arrange her admission. In the first month, we selected potential institutions and compiled the necessary documents. Shortly after, we received her offer of admission! Following that, we focused on organizing everything ahead of her studies. In September, Maria successfully began her studies in London!
